Savemore Foundation
We are asked this often, and it deserves a straight answer. We cannot reach every household that needs help. Deciding where support goes is the most serious responsibility we carry.
We ask the people who already know
Community leaders and local church contacts know who is genuinely struggling — including the households that never come forward. Working through them means support reaches the homes that need it rather than the homes that are easiest to find.
We start where our objectives point
- Elderly people living alone, especially those caring for grandchildren
- Families carrying children without steady income
- Households in rural communities that are furthest from other assistance
- Homes where a child is at risk of leaving school for reasons of cost
These are not arbitrary categories. Providing funding to elderly people and other families, and providing humanitarian services to rural communities, are two of the four objectives we committed to.
We go back
Where we can, we return to the same households rather than spreading a single visit as widely as possible. Returning is what lets us notice change — someone who has grown frailer, a grandchild who has arrived, a household that has stopped being able to cook.
A wider list looks better on paper. A shorter list that we actually stay with does more.
If you know of a household in genuine need, you can write to us through the contact page. We cannot promise to reach everyone, and we would rather say that honestly than imply otherwise.
