Supported learners are not handed a fee and forgotten. The foundation follows their academic progress through the school year and provides funds where cost is the thing standing between a child and a classroom.
“We will be monitoring academic progress of our students. Providing funds to our students.”
Supporting and promoting education is one of the foundation's four stated objectives, and the School Monitoring Programs are how that objective is carried out.
The word monitoring is deliberate. Paying a fee is a single transaction; monitoring is a relationship that lasts the length of a school career. The foundation follows how supported students are actually doing — attendance, results, whether something at home has changed — so that a learner sliding towards dropping out is noticed while there is still time to act.
Alongside that, the programme provides funds to its students. In many households the barrier is not willingness but a specific, unaffordable cost at a specific moment: fees at the start of term, a uniform that no longer fits, examination charges. Meeting that cost at the right time is often the whole difference.
