Health talks delivered in the community, in the local language, about preventing the illnesses that people around here actually face. Prevention costs a conversation; treatment costs far more than most households have.
“Its a program designed to educate people on how to prevent different kind of diseases (health talks).”
The Awareness Campaign programme is described in the foundation profile as a programme designed to educate people on how to prevent different kinds of diseases — health talks.
The sessions are deliberately plain and practical. They are held where people already gather, delivered in the language of the community, and built around questions rather than lectures. A health talk that nobody understands or remembers has changed nothing.
Prevention also protects everything else the foundation is doing. A family that avoids a serious illness keeps its income, its children stay in school, and the household does not fall back into the situation the Food Scheme Program was meant to lift it out of. The four programmes are not separate efforts — they hold each other up.
