The foundation is extending its awareness work into schools, where prevention messages reach children at the age their habits are forming — and travel home with them afterwards.
Sessions cover handwashing, safe water and the everyday practices that prevent the illnesses most common in the community. They are designed to fit inside a normal school period so that teachers can accommodate them without losing a day.
Because the foundation already monitors supported learners at many of these schools, the sessions build on relationships that exist rather than starting from scratch.
